How are Breastcancer.org and Stonyfield collaborating?
Earlier this year, Stonyfield collaborated with Breastcancer.org to fund the development of a new section on Breastcancer.org called Organic Living. Organic Living is a valuable new addition to Breastcancer.org's Think Pink, Live Green global breast cancer prevention initiative. Organic Living explains the importance of a planet-friendly lifestyle and helps people make organic choices through regularly updated articles, recipes, videos, and lifestyle tips.
Consistent with our corporate sponsorship policy, the partnership with Stonyfield is not an endorsement of Stonyfield or their products. Nor does Stonyfield have any influence on Breastcancer.org's editorial content. While Stonyfield does contribute some of their resources to Organic Living, that content is clearly attributed to Stonyfield.
We understand that there are various schools of thought about the impact of dairy on breast cancer risk. As with all things, we did extensive research before embarking on a partnership with Stonyfield. Based on the data available at this time, there is no clear, proven connection between dairy and breast cancer risk. We do suggest people use organic, fat-free, antibiotic-free dairy products with no added hormones to avoid exposure to pesticides and synthetic hormones. As for concerns about dairy, we will continue to follow and update this important topic in our Lower Your Risk section and Think Pink, Live Green.
The connection between Breastcancer.org and Stonyfield is forged from a shared vision that a planet-friendly lifestyle can help reduce the risk of a breast cancer diagnosis or recurrence. Stonyfield has been a pioneer in the organic farming movement and an effective advocate in reducing toxins released into the climate. Our own research through Think Pink, Live Green has shown that our outside environment affects breast health through the chemicals in food, beverages, medications, and other products we use. Our alliance with Stonyfield in this initiative is an important component to achieving our goals for better breast health.
